Beyond Fear: The Freedom of Being Nobody
The journey from “World is an Illusion” to “World is my Self.”
The realm of our thoughts is an illusion because the physical world we experience is not the ultimate reality; rather, it is a manifestation and projection of our mind’s consciousness. Whatever thoughts produce within us project a similar world outside.
It doesn't mean we have to engage solely in positive thinking. It signifies that we need to rise above and transcend our thoughts. The physical world is transient and impermanent, constantly changing and subject to decay and suffering. Its illusory nature is often called “Maya” or “Illusion.”
When our center of existence shifts from “Mind to Being” through suffering or grace, we undergo an inner transformation in consciousness. At that point, we feel and experience the joy of Being as an unchanging, eternal reality that transcends the physical world. Living from Beingness perceives physical suffering as a result of our attachment to illusions (Maya). Therefore, pain and suffering are merely an illusion.
What is the Ultimate Goal of the Human Being? (And Watch the Video too)
The ultimate goal is to transcend the world and attain Enlightenment by realizing the inner Being. Spiritual awakening is your primary purpose on this earth. Your profession or what you do in the world is always secondary.
When you identify with your mind, you create a barrier of thoughts, judgments, and labels that obstruct your ability to connect with yourself, others, and nature. You can’t even feel your essence—that is God itself.
This mental barrier fosters the illusion that you are separate from everything else, causing you to forget the deeper truth that you are connected to all on a profound level. This forgetfulness makes you lose touch with the reality of your oneness with the universe. You may believe in oneness, but it is only through your own experience that it becomes liberating.
How Does an Awakened and Unawakened Person Live?
The awakened person sees the world as its own Self. There is no difference between him and others. There are NO others for him. Everything and everybody is one for him. He feels Oneness with the whole universe.
On the other hand, the mind-identified person is unaware of his Oneness with the Being and doesn’t understand that everything in the world is connected and comes from the same source. Consequently, his mind constructs an imaginary world of separate interacting objects. He persistently misinterprets the sense perception he receives from his senses. This way of seeing the world is like dreaming because it’s not based on reality but on the mind’s creation.
The ultimate reality is NOT any external God but our interconnectedness/Oneness with one another.
Difference Between Oneness and Separateness
So the awakened person sees and experiences the world as his own Self, as the manifestation of his Being. In contrast, an unawakened person experiences the world of separateness, where he perceives himself as a separate suspended fragment in the dog-eating dog world that is decaying and suffering. The unawakened person considers this transitory world as real. Hence, the world impacts and acts on an unawakened person as his “center of living” is his dysfunctional mind.
How Does Your Mind Create the World?
The existence of an independent entity known as the world is dependent on the presence of thoughts. During deep, dreamless sleep, the mind and the world cease to exist. When the mind goes outward from Being, it turns into the Ego and the world. In this way, by thinking and identifying with things and people, your mind creates the world in which you exist.
Therefore, when the world appears real, the Being does not appear.
When the mind turns inward, it transforms into Being. Then, Being only shines, and the world does not appear. Once you deeply realize that everything is ONE with you. You see the world as yourself.
Why God is No-Thing and No-Body?
The Spiritual awakening is the journey from Somebody to Nobody. The center of living shifts from the mind to Being.
From somebody to nobody.
From something to nothing.
God is nothing.
God is nobody.
No-Thing. No-Body
You cannot experience God by lukewarm devotion. To realize Being, that is God; your devotion must be exclusive, continuous and selfless. These will purify your mind. Once the mind is purified of all its dysfunctions, it can easily abide in Being. Now the mind can rest inward and lose the desire to go out in the world and find God in thousands of worldly things.
When your mind’s desire is only for God, it turns inward, merges with its source, and you attain spiritual enlightenment.
